# Trying to find the time

It’s not like I have a lot of free time. I really don’t.

Between work, family, exercise, and “life admin”, it feels like I never get a moment to day dream or switch my brain off for a bit. I’m certainly never bored. Not like when I was younger.

Running your own business means there’s always something that needs doing. I know what needs attention, so I may as well just get on with it. Why waste time doing anything else. It’s always been this way. I work too much. Evenings, weekends, checking in when on holiday. I do it out of choice, because I enjoy the work, but it’s clear I have issues with letting go.

I know I need to do other things. I know I should have more of a “work life balance”. Everyone says this. But it’s hard to not do the thing you enjoy. More often than not, I choose work over relaxing, like watching television in the evening or playing video games.

My brain is constantly spinning with ideas and things I should be doing. It’s like I’ve forgotten how to switch off. One thought that keeps coming back is journaling. More specifically, blogging. A place of my own, away from work.

I've started and abandoned many blogs over the years, I have a huge archive of posts that I need to get back online, so overtime, they'll be new posts here as well as backfilling the archive.

This latest attempt at blogging will hopefully give me a personal, creative outlet that isn’t work. A place to look back on in years to come and try to make sense of it all.
